Not ending up like Romeo and Juliette

In a city somewhere…there are men and women like us. But outside this city, on the other side of the bridge, lives another society. A society made up of beings of flesh and blood and yet very different from us. Its inhabitants are invisible, without a physical appearance. They all wear the same mask.

For a long time, the visible and the invisible lived side by side, and then one day something happened, no one can really remember what… For generations now, the two communities live on either side of the bridge with the strange conviction that it’s better this way.

When the story begins, we discover Romy, a Ping-Pong champion who is an invisible. In between training sessions she takes care of her ailing father. The old man likes to say that’s he’s not afraid to die, he would just like to make a “dignified exit”. As he looks back on his life, he has only one regret: He’s never done it. He’s never been to the other side.

The fiction begins here.
